My journalism career began in high school and continued through college to the professional world. I've served as a stringer for high school sports, worked full-time as a do-it-all reporter/photographer at a small-town daily and returned to student media in advisory capacity. This resulted in several awards from the Kentucky Press Association and the Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association.

health Communication

My time in health communication was spent at a city/county-owned not-for-profit hospital in western Kentucky. While there, I handled internal communications via a daily employee newsletter, external communications via press releases and community events, and most photographic tasks needed for the department.
During my time at the hospital, I worked on several projects which won Thoroughbred awards from the Kentucky Society for Healthcare, Public Relations and Marketing, including one in the Three or Four Color Print Advertising category for the “We Specialize In You” campaign in 2013. |
